The Ultravid provides a slightly brighter image than the same size Trinovid, with good contrast and sharpness for this size instrument. Leica continued making both the Ultravid and the slightly less ambitious Trinovid in the format 8×20 (see separate post ×20-bca/ ) and seems to still have good market success with both of them. While some years ago, it had some competition from same size binoculars made by Swarovski and Zeiss (see separate posts, ×20-pocket/, and ×20-t-compact/ ) these companies have in the meantime stopped making 8×20 instruments and have been making binoculars of size 8×25 instead (see separate posts, ×25/, and ×25/ ). This is almost unanimously rated the best 8×20 pocket binocular currently available. Whether for nature or wildlife observation, on trips or at events you will always find the perfect, discrete companion in Leica’s range of binoculars. *range of diopter adjustment is not available when the position of the focus wheel is beyond infinity Leica binoculars are ready for any kind of adventure in all situations.
